Superseded on 7 December 2024. The Global Talent visa used subclass 858, and that same subclass now carries the National Innovation Visa. The number survived, but the programme did not. GTV's target-sector list, its income threshold guidance and its comparatively generous invitation rate are all gone.
This programme is closed. We keep the page up because agents still advertise it and clients still ask. Nothing below is available to new applicants.
The subclass number never changed, so a lot of GTV-era marketing still reads as current. It is not. The salary-threshold guidance that made GTV workable for senior corporate hires has no equivalent under the NIV, which asks for international eminence instead.

- Any material describing subclass 858 Global Talent with an income threshold is describing a dead programme, no matter how recent the page's date looks.
- GTV was significantly easier to obtain than the NIV. Historic approval rates are not a guide to current odds.
