Czech Digital Nomad Program

Open Last verified July 2026

Active since 2023 and expanded on 24 February 2025 to add Brazil, Israel, Mexico and Singapore, and to admit marketing specialists alongside IT specialists. It is restricted to 13 nationalities.

Unlike Hungary's White Card or Croatia's nomad permit, this one is not a dead end. The time you spend on it accrues toward permanent residence. But it is open to only 13 nationalities and two occupations, which makes it the narrowest nomad programme in Europe by eligibility.

What can go wrong
  • The income threshold has not been verified. The official CzechInvest page gives no figure. Secondary sources conflict: CZK 69,836/month for freelancers, cited as 1.5x the average wage for 2026, versus CZK 60,530/month for employees of foreign companies. These thresholds are tied by formula to the minimum wage and the subsistence minimum, so they recalculate whenever those figures move. Confirm the current number with MPO (digitalnomad@mpo.gov.cz) before relying on either one.
  • Only 13 nationalities qualify: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Israel, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, UK and USA among them. If your passport is not on the list, this route simply does not exist for you.
  • Only IT specialists and marketing specialists qualify. You will also need 3 years' IT experience or a STEM degree.
  • Unlike Croatia, there is no income tax exemption here. If you meet the residency tests, you are taxed as a Czech resident.
