EAEU labour mobility (work without a work permit)

Open Last verified August 2026

Kyrgyzstan has been a member of the Eurasian Economic Union since 2015. Citizens of member states — Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia — may work in Kyrgyzstan without obtaining a work permit.

For an Armenian, Belarusian, Kazakh or Russian national this removes the single most tedious step in the chain — the work permit — and makes the employment ground for a temporary residence permit straightforward to satisfy.

What can go wrong
  • THE WORK RIGHT IS NOT A STATUS. You still need registration, and residence if you want to stay.
  • Day-count rules for visa-free stay differ by nationality and treaty, and the 90-in-180 figure should be verified against your own passport.
  • Employment by a Kyrgyz entity brings the entity into Kyrgyz payroll and social-contribution obligations.
